Mary Lee James

Biscoe- Mary Lee James, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at her home.

Mary was born in Montgomery County on January 6, 1929, to Lee and Mary Maness Britt.  She was retired from Springs Mill, a member of the First Baptist Church of Biscoe, a lifetime member of the Good Old Girls and the Women’s VFW 9881 Auxiliary and loved to play bingo.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clayton James and brother James Britt and sister Elgie Freeman.

She is survived by her daughters Frances Mabe of Biscoe; Margaret James of Biscoe; Sandra Spivey of Biscoe; son Ronald James of Candor; and sister Rosa Tyson of Ellerbe.  Seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday January 13, 2022, prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 pm at Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Britt Deaton Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Wilson and Rev. Josh Powers officiating.
