Anthony Lee Saunders

Anthony Lee Saunders, age 79, of Troy, passed away on June 23, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Mr. Saunders was born on October 7, 1946, in Randolph County to John Frank and Ethel Cooper Saunders. He worked as a brick mason for many years until his retirement. Anthony loved to fish and spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his brother Mark Saunders and daughter Crystal Saunders.

Anthony is survived by his daughters Michelle Reynolds (Jason) of Candor; Audrey Brewer of Mt. Gilead; sons Darrin Saunders of Troy; Dwayne Saunders of Troy; Jesse Saunders (Melanie) of Candor and Daniel Saunders of Denton, sister LaVerne Hurley of Candor, and brother John Frank Saunders (Sandra) of Star. As well as thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 am at Leach Cemetery in Star with Rev. Richard Lynthacum officiating.
