Arlie Colon Davis

Arlie Colon Davis, 84, of 3491 Big Oak Church Road, Eagle Springs, died March 22 2009, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009,at Pleasant View Friends Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Don Luellen and the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins with military honors. He was a native of Moore County, a member of VFW Post 9245 Robbins, and a World War II U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife, Katie Davis, of the home; son, Donovan Davis, of Eagle Springs; daughter, Sandra Banker, of Durham; sisters, Ethel Smith of Robbins, Berlene Vodicka of Raleigh, Dorothy Thomas of Carthage; brother, Archie "Shorty" Davis of Eagle Springs; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Firsthealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst NC 28374. The family is being served Phillips Funeral Home in Star.
