BARBARA LYNN ASBILL EWING Mrs. Barbara Ewing of Rome, Georgia passed away on Friday August 23, 2013 at her residence,following a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Ewing was born on May 13, 1941 at her home in Biscoe, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Robert Leach Asbill and Helen Hurley Asbill of Biscoe. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rome. She was preceded in death by sister, Judy Luck, and brother RL Asbill Jr. Survivors include, husband, William A. Ewing of Rome; sister, Sheila Kay Asbill Mabe and her husband, Mitchell, of Star, North Carolina; daughter Elizabeth E Heath and husband Bradley, of White, Ga.; daughter. Beverly E. Pennington and husband Lee, of Albemarle, North Carolina; and daughter, Barbara E. (Barbie) Willingham and husband Roy, of Rome, Georgia; Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Edward Ross Pennington, William Trey Pennington, and Allie Ruth Pennington of Albemarle, NC, Dylan Ewing Munsey, Veronica Lynn Munsey, and Patricia Breanna Heath, of White, Georgia, Lauren Adele Willingham of Rome, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was a very talented seamstress that loved gardening, camping, and family vacations at the coast. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 25, 2013, in the sanctuary, of Rome First United Methodist Church, 202 Third Avenue, Rome, Ga. 30161, with Rev. Dr. Robert Brown, officiating. The family will receive friends after service until 4:30 P.M. in the Wilder Center. Graveside and interment services will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. at the Biscoe Cemetery, in Biscoe, North Carolina, Rev. Kjersti Lockhart, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Rome First United Methodist Church , 202 Third Ave. Rome, Ga. 30161 or the family will accept flowers. Pallbearers include sons-in-law Bradley Heath, Edward Lee Pennington, Roy E. Willingham, Mitchell Mabe, Mitchell Mabe, Jr. and Joe Luck.
