Robbins - Benjamin Cranford Brown, 76, 145 Limestone Lane, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Browns Chapel Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Parenti officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He was born in Moore County to Cossie and Thelma Moore Brown. He was a retired supervisor at Russell Hosiery Mill. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Brown Page, and granddaughter, Angela Allred. He is survived by his wife, Betty Marie Owens Brown, of the home; daughters, Tina Anderson and husband, Terry, of Robbins, Debbie Cockman of West End and husband, Frankie, of Candor; Tammy Brown of Robbins; grandchildren, Jay Sheffield of Robbins, Jeremiah Whal of West End, Emily Cockman of Eagle Springs, Truman Burton of Robbins; great-grandchildren, Trent Williams, Kiana Williams, Nathan Allred, Megan Allred, McKayla Sheffield, Haley Michelle Sheffield; brothers, Howard Brown and wife, Mae, of Robbins, Roger Brown and wife, Dot, of Robbins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
