Bertha Sheffield Williams, 89, of 2341 Shady Williams Drive, Asheboro, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Autumn Care of Biscoe. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Browns Chapel Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Parenti officiating. Mrs. Williams was born in Montgomery County to Noah Albert and Effie Jane Morgan Sheffield. She was a retired poultry processor and a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lamuel Williams. She is survived by her daughters, Effie Marie Starling of Asheboro; Ethel Elaine Watt and husband, Jack, of Asheboro, Lora Faye Coble of Sophia; sons, Earl Ray Williams of Troy, Robert Eugene Williams and wife, Irene, of Asheboro, Noah Wayne Williams of Seagrove, Lemuel Rufus Williams and wife, Kathy, of Seagrove; sister, Beatrice Stutts of Eagle Springs; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
