Betty Lee Jordan Hamilton

Star - Betty Lee Hamilton, 82, of Harper Street, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Ether United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Kay Boone and Rev. Jerry Martin, and Rev. Dr. Conrad Glass officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Randolph County to Percy and Mozelle Black Jordan. She graduated with the class of 1953 from High Point College, where she met the love of her life, her husband, James. She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years with 18 of those years in Montgomery County. She had a passion for cooking (she even wrote her own cookbook), baking cakes, and sending birthday and anniversary cards to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James W. Hamilton and a son, Bill Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Williams and husband, Steve, of Randleman; sons, Don Hamilton and wife, Connie, of Lynchburg, VA, Joe Hamilton of Star; daughter-in-law, Beth Hamilton, of Delaware; grandchildren, Jason, Maghan, Kyle, Jessica, Matthew, Jordan, Kaylan; great-grandchildren, Auroa, Ellie, Ruby, and Landon. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Ether UMC, PO Box 156, Ether, NC 27247 or Community Home Care and Hospice of Troy, 1024 Albemarle Road, Suite 904, Troy, NC 27371. The family would like to say thanks to all of her caregivers, with a very special thanks to Tori and Penny.
