Bonnie Smith Britt

Star - Bonnie Smith Britt, 91, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Star Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. David J. Speering officiating. Interment will be in Old New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Britt was born in Moore County to Haywood and Janie Monroe Smith. She was a registered nurse at Montgomery Nursing Home in Biscoe for many years and also at local hospitals in the area. During her nursing career, she taught the LPN class at Randolph Community College.

She is survived by her husband, J. G. Britt, of the home; daughter, Dawn Covington (Warren), of Star; sister, Mary Vanhoy, of Troy; three grandchildren, Amanda, Britt, and Kurt Covington.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
