Brenda Freeman Dunn

Brenda Freeman Dunn, age 62, of Star passed away on February 23, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Brenda was born on June 30, 1963, in Montgomery County to James Clyde and Janie Ard Freeman. Brenda found joy in quilting, baking, tending to her garden and fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Garland Edward Dunn Sr and brother BZ Freeman.

She is survived by her sons Garland Dunn Jr. (Jessica), Jonathan Dunn (Sydney), Jeremy Dunn and David Dunn. Sisters Winnie Steed, MaryAnn Hogan (Harold) and Shirley McKenzie, brother David Freeman (Janet). As well as grandchildren, Madison, Brooks, Caroline and Sawyer.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm. Burial will follow at the Old New Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Brenda's memory to New Hope Baptist Church, PO Box 434, Star, NC 27356.
