Carolyn Mease Paty

Dunedin, Florida - Carolyn Mease Paty died on November 3, 2013, in Candor, North Carolina. Carolyn was born in Dunedin, Florida on January 8, 1928, daughter of Dr. John Andrew Mease, Jr and Gladys Bowen Mease. She attended Clearwater High School, Florida State College for Women, and graduated from Emory University School of Nursing. In 1953, she married Dr. Philip Behenna Paty, and she raised four children in Dunedin. She worked at Mease Hospital in Dunedin as Director of Nursing Education from 1961 to 1967. She was predeceased by her husband; son, Robert Mease Paty; daughter, Elizabeth Bowen Paty, and parents. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Janis Paty and husband, Terry Jarrell, of Star, North Carolina; son, Dr. Philip Paty and wife, Sheree, of New York, New York; granddaughters, Allyson Paty and Melanie Paty of New York, New York. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 10, at First United Methodist Church in Dunedin. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at the residence after the service from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Mease Hospital Foundation. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 10, at First United Methodist Church in Dunedin. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at the residence after the service from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
