Biscoe - Carrie Ann Klass Maness, 80, of Cabin Creek Road, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at UNC Hospitals. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 6, 2015, at Page Memorial United Methodist with the Rev. Vic Hill officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery. Mrs. Maness was born in Montgomery County to Grady Harvell and Mary Edna Lemonds Klass. She was a retired cotton mill sewer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Teresa Ann Maness, and brother, Farrell Junior Klass. Carrie was very involved in her church. She was a life-time member at Page Memorial United Methodist Church in Biscoe. Carrie spent 14 years in the church nursery making sure each child could sing "Jesus Loves Me". Carrie also had a passion for cooking and baking. A few of her favorites to make for her family and the community were pound cakes (from scratch), persimmon puddings, "cooked apples", and homemade ham biscuits among many other things. She is survived by her husband, James Albert Maness, Sr., of the home; sons, James Albert Maness, Jr. and wife, Joan, of Biscoe, Timothy Kevin Maness of Biscoe; daughter, Mary Jane Maness, of Clayton; brother, Alvia Lee Klass, of Troy; sisters, Nancy K. Parmeter of Biscoe, Patricia Greene of Biscoe; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Any memorials can be made to Page Memorial UMC, PO Box 88, Biscoe, NC 27209. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 6, 2015, at Page Memorial United Methodist with the Rev. Vic Hill officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
