Mt. Gilead - Charles Robert "Bobby" Crump, Sr., 65, of 510 West Allenton Street, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 8, 2013, at Biscoe Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larry Lyon officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Crump was born on March 4, 1948, in Anson County to Joe and Marie Wells Crump. He was a graduate of West Montgomery High School and was the owner/operator of Tarheel Drywall for 40 years. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and the recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Medal. He was a proud father of his two children and four grandchildren. He was a retired volunteer fireman with the Biscoe Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Hancock Crump, of the home; daughter, Tonya Lewis and husband, Gary, of Seven Lakes; son, Chuck Crump and wife, Beth, of Star; brother, Joe Lee Crump and wife, Paulette, of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Frances Mullen and husband, Buddy, of Hamlet; four grandchildren, MacKenzie, Emma, Kamden, and Logan. The family will receive friends immediately after the memorial service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kameron Kellam Memorial Fund, c/o The North Carolina Community Foundation, 4601 Six Forks Road, Suite 524, Raleigh, NC 27609.
