Eagle Springs - Clinton Ray "Reuben" Williams, 79, died Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Duke University Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Bensalem Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Mark Andrew Carver officiating.

Mr. Williams was born in Moore County on August 16, 1933, to James L. and Estelle Williamson Williams. He was a member of Bensalem Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir, served as a deacon and elder. He retired from the lumber business and harvesting pine needles.

Reuben served as fire chief of Eagle Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He and Geraldine enjoyed dancing with the Seven Lakes "Yellow Rockers" square dancers.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Arthur Williams, Viola Monroe, James Williams, and Fred Williams.

Reuben is survived by his wife, Geraldine Freeman Williams, of the home; daughter, Joy (Terry) Kelly, of Reidsville; sons, Alan (Deborah Godwin) Williams of Eagle Springs, Chan (Lynette) Williams, of Pinehurst ; sisters, Treva (Hoyle) Smith of Piedmont, SC, Elizabeth (Joe) Pusser of West End; brothers, Roy C. (Virginia) Williams, of Eagle Springs, Foster L. Williams, of Eagle Springs, Harold (Nellie) Williams, of Aberdeen, Winford (Ruby Ann)Williams, of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Chris and Andy Kelly, Allie MacDonagh, Kaleigh Williams, Charles Pope; four great-grandchildren, Madison Armstrong, Dayton Welch, Grayson Kelly, Avery MacDonagh.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Bensalem Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
