Clyde Byrd Auman

Clyde "Bill" Byrd Auman , 82, of 5213 Lovejoy Rd., Troy, died Saturday, June 04, 2011 at University Medical Center in Charlotte. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 7, at Macedonia United Methodist Church, Abner Rd., Troy, with the Rev. Clarence Garner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Auman was a retired mechanic with Junior Johnson Racing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Cagle Auman. Surviving are, Two Sons: Ken Auman and wife, Karen, of Asheboro, NC David Auman and wife, Penny, of Charlotte, NC One Daughter: Cathy Teague and husband, Mikey, of New London, NC One Sister: Vivian Gilliam, Thomasville, NC Four grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, June 6, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. The family wants to honor Bill's request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church, PO Box 50, Troy, NC 27371 or to Eleazer United Methodist Church, C/O Dana Saunders, 405 Sexton Rd., Denton, NC 27239.
