David Lee Parsons

David Lee Parsons, 68, of Star, passed away on December 14, 2022 at SECU House in Chapel Hill.

David was born in Montgomery County on August 25, 1954, to Christmas David and Mary Ina Lamonds Parsons. David was employed by Tysinger Hosiery Mill and had previously worked for Russell's Hosiery Mill, Fruit of the Loom, and Renfro. He loved shooting matches and carp fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marie Hursey Parsons of the home; sons, Timothy David Parsons (Anna) of Fayetteville and William Alexander Parsons (Charity) of Candor; brother, James "Bud" Parsons of Star; grandchild, Elle Parsons and step grandchildren, Emma Miller and Jordan Freeman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the oncology department and staff at SECU House in Chapel Hill.
