David "Tony" Parsons

David "Tony" Parsons, 80, of Candor, passed away on July 18, 2023, at Autumn Care.

Tony was born on April 1, 1943, in Montgomery County to David Samuel and Martha Catherine Floyd Parsons. He graduated from Candor High School and furthered his education at High Point University, majoring in Business. Tony then went to work for Burlington Industries.

Tony loved playing golf and watching sports. He also enjoyed growing a vegetable garden from which he generously shared with those around him and he also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and brother Virgil Parsons.

He is survived by his niece Kelly Cody (Brian) of Richfield; nephew David W. Parsons (April) of Candor; sister-in-law Penny Ledbetter Parsons of Candor; aunt Betty Maynard of Star; great-nieces and nephews Katie Stephens (Hunter) of Candor; Tyler Cody, Carson Bruton, Ashley Cody, Emma Cody, and Nickolas Parsons; as well as great-great nieces Allie Beth Stephens, Andie Brooke Stephens, Averie Briggs Stephens, and Amzie Britt Stephens.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Candor Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating.
