Donald Ray Davis

Donald "Don" Ray Davis, age 74, gained his heavenly home on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Don was born in Troy, NC on June 21, 1949, he was the son of Barney and Ruby Allen Davis.

He owned and operated Modern Shell in Seagrove for 10 years before working at Mid-State Plastics for 10 years as well. Later on, he retired to focus on his passion for farming. Don's dedication extended beyond his career as he actively participated in the Brown Racing Enterprise team and he was an avid hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Donna King and sisters Bonnie Whitley and Linda Cox.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Dunn of the home; sisters Shirley Sikes, and Mildred Mabe (Randy) of Seagrove; grandchildren Amber Morris (Kyle); Josh Davis (Lindsay); Sarah King (Joseph); and Megan Smith (Eric); as well as nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Dover Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am with Rev. Linda Yow officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Don's memory to the Friends of the Goldston Library Inc. at PO Box 175, Goldston, NC 27252.
