Star - Doris Mae Albright Williams, 75, of 266 New Hope Church Road, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Davis and Dr. Kenneth McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Doris was born on December 11, 1935, to Roe Emmitt Albright and Dora Chriscoe Albright. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer for almost 40 years. She was a charter member and chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9881 Biscoe where she also served as chairman of the Cancer Aid & Research Program. She was involved with American Red Cross Blood Drive for many years. She was a charter member of the New Hope Baptist Church WMU. She served as the chief judge for Star Precinct Montgomery County Board of Elections. Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Williams Mitchum, and brother, Arlie Albright. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Clarence Ray Williams, Sr. of the home; son, Clarence Ray Williams, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Vickie Williams, of Huntersville, NC; daughter, Robin Lynne Williams, of the home; granddaughters, Amy Leigh Mitchum of Winterpark, FL; Brooke Smith and Sierra Smith of Huntersville, NC; brothers, Harold (Marie) Albright of Seagrove, Carroll (Judy) Albright of Asheboro; sisters, Edna (Jack) Smith of Seagrove, Eula McNeill of Seagrove, Patricia (Jimmy) Upton of Seagrove. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home.
