STAR - Mrs. Dorothy Luck McBride , 86, of 668 McBride Lumber Rd., Star, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 23, at Star Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Danny Trapp officiating. Interment will be in White Oak Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. McBride was born in Montgomery County to Curtis and Minnie Parks Luck. She was a member of Star Presbyterian Church, a homemaker, and served as a notary public for the state of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. McBride; grandsons, Benjy and Kevin McBride; and brothers, Will and Cliff Luck. Surviving are her Three Sons: Leroy (Betty) McBride, Star, NC Benny (Kathy) McBride , Star, NC Ronnie (Jeanette) McBride , Asheboro, NC One Daughter: Brenda Trogdon, Star, NC One Brother: Bob Luck, Asheboro, NC Six Sisters: Margaret Maness, Asheboro, NC Irma Stone, Asheboro, NC Carol Maness, Asheboro, NC Annie Jessup, Asheboro, NC Peggy Bailey, Seagrove, NC Maggie Cox , Ramseur, NC Six Grandchildren: Eric (Katherine) McBride, Jonathan McBride, Matthew (Kristen) Trogdon, Katie Trogdon, Brooke McBride, and Brad McBride Five Great-grandchildren: Abigail, Worth, Ben, Jonathan, and Austin McBride The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 22, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
