Edward N. Brown Carthage - Edward Norman Brown, age 75, of 109 Asbill Road, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009, at Providence Chapel Church with Dr. Don Davis officiating. He was a native of Moore County and was a retired weaver. Surviving are his daughters, Amanda Garner of Robbins, Vickie Gilfillan of Charlotte; step-daughter, Tammy Rouse, of Robbins; sons, Kevin Brown of Biscoe, Mitchell Brown of the home; sisters, Clara Mae Leach of Asheboro, Barbra Duck of Robbins; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home in Star. The family is being served by Phillips Funeral Home in Star.
