Ken Woodruff Star - Edward Kenneth "Ken" Woodruff, age 68, of 419 South Main Street, died Wednesday, July 08, 2009 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Leach Cemetery in Star with military honors. Mr. Woodruff was a native of Caldwell County, a retired fixer with Springs Industries, Aileen Plant, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Horne Woodruff, of the home; daughters, Carla Davis of Robbins, Tina Woodruff (Donald) of Seagrove; son, Timmy Davis, of Star; sisters, Shirley Borders (Steve), Judy Messer, brothers, Dale Woodruff (Vetty), Daniel Coffey (Lynn), Darrell Coffey (Rachel), all of Lenoir; grandchildren, Josh, Johnathan, Danny Lee, Crystal, Ceslie, Landon, Zachary, Kenston, Kendall, Tiara; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Lauren, Colon. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
