Ernest Ray Kennedy

Ernest R. Kennedy Seagrove - Ernest Ray Kennedy, age 90, formerly of Upper Road, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2008, at Union Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Ron Chaney and the Rev. Grady Blakely officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was a native of Moore County and was retired from BB Walker Shoes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Garner Kennedy and son, David Lee Kennedy. Surviving are his daughters, Marjorie McNeill of Seagrove, Marie Cagle of Asheboro, Lucille Moore of Seagrove, Carolyn Wicker of Seagrove; sons, Tommy D. Kennedy of Robbins, Ray J. Kennedy of Asheboro, Roger D. Kennedy of Seagrove; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m.Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home in Star and other times at the home of Raeford and Marjorie McNeill, 7422 Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove.
