Frances Lucas Mabe

Frances Lucas Mabe, age 77, of Seagrove, passed away on April 18, 2026.

Frances was born on April 11, 1949, in Montgomery County to Robert and Cathleen Sanders Lucas. Frances dedicated many years to her career as a medical secretary and was an active member of Dover Baptist Church. She had a love for gardening and flowers and took great joy in creating wreaths for others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Mabe and brother Bobby Lucas.

She is survived by her daughter Christie McRae (David) of West End and son Greg Mabe (Chrystal) of Seagrove. Sisters, Janice Stutts (Billy) of Ether, Joyce Parsons (Neal) of Candor, and Karen Smith (Ronnie) of Biscoe; brothers, Mitchell Lucas (Mary) of Mt. Gilead, Steve Lucas (Jennifer) of Concord and Andy Lucas (Margaret) of Star. Grandchildren Drew (Janet), Matthew, Macie, Logan and Reagan; as well as great grandchildren Sloane and Forrest.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Dover Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Rev. Chris Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
