Frances Deese Parkerson, age 77, passed away on January 5, 2026, at Autumn Care of Biscoe.
Frances was born on December 29, 1948, in Cheraw, SC to Willam Isaac and Virgie Honeycutt Deese. After proudly serving her country in the Marine Corps and meeting her husband, she moved back home. She then went on to work for Alandale Knitting and First Bank until her retirement. She was a member of the Star United Methodist Church for many years. She also was active in the American Legion auxiliary, Lowe Warner Post 159, for many years and served as its President. Frances was a woman of great generosity, with a heart full of compassion. She deeply loved her family and her fur babies. She carried the true heart of a mother-always nurturing, giving, and selfless, as well as the best sister anyone could have. She loved baking and cooking especially at holidays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Parkerson, brothers A.J. Deese and Gerald Deese, and sister Ruth Burrows.
She is survived by her son Michael Parkerson of Troy; stepson Tony Parkerson of Alma, GA; stepdaughter Beverly; brother Stanley Deese of Hickory; sisters Hazel Spivey (James) of Troy and Janice Lewis of Rockingham. As well as granddaughter Brooke Castaneda and several great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Star United Methodist Church at 12:00 pm with Rev. Haley Capps officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00-11: 45 pm. Entombment will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle with military rites by Randolph County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Frances's memory to Star United Methodist Church, PO Box 375, Star, NC 27356.
