Geneva Lee Scott Dunlap

Seagrove - Geneva Lee Scott Dunlap, 90, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Needham's Grove Independent Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Arnold Comer, Rev. DJ Harry, and Rev. Bryan Maness officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Dunlap was born in Moore County to Claude Nelson and Ella Mae Moore Scott. She was a member of the Senior Saints at her church. She was retired from Ithaca Hosiery Mill.

She loved to quilt, work in her yard and flowers, and go out to eat anywhere.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Walter Junior Dunlap, sisters, Kathy Abdo and Juanita Maness, and great-great-grandson, Triston Ortiz.

She is survived by her daughter, Inez Asbill (Darrell) of Seagrove, son, Wilbur Dunlap, of Seagrove; brother: Walter Lewis " Buster" Scott, of Eagle Springs; sisters, Betsy Scott Hussey of Robbins, Judy Scott Burns, of Eagle Springs; grandchildren, Anthony Dunlap (Annette) of Seagrove, Marla Morfin (Art) of Ellerbe, Tammy Ortiz of Cary, Jonas Asbill (Neelie) of Seagrove; step-granddaughters, Amy Moon (Tim) of Asheboro; Christine McNeill (Dale) of Asheboro; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home.
