Grace Allen Lemonds

Grace Allen Lemonds, age 90, of Asheboro, passed away on October 30, 2026, at Randolph Hospice House.

Grace was born on September 11, 1936, in Montgomery County to Ervin and Bertie Dunn Allen. Grace was a retired beauty shop owner and loved to cook, travel, garden and take mission trips to China.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Magdeline Sheffield and Shirley Adkins; brothers Robert, Clinton, Donald and Walter Allen.

Grace is survived by her husband Jack Lemonds of the home; daughter Angela Moffitt of Pilot Mountain, son Jay Moffitt (Susan) of Seagrove; son-in-law Kenneth Lemonds; daughters-in-law Laura Lemonds and Donna Lemonds; granddaughters Stephanie Moffitt Cowthorn, Nikki Lemonds Simmons (Timothy), Sarah Lemonds Dean (Parker); grandson Christian Keese; as well as great grandchildren Lucas, Ellie, Wyatt and Logan Simmons. Sisters Mae Perkins, Linda Greene and Frances Allen; brothers Thomas Allen, Bill Allen, Gary Allen, Ervin Allen Jr., Steve Allen, and Clyde Allen.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Asbury Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Mashburn and Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
