Guy Edward Singleton

Franklinville - Guy Edward Singleton, 88, of Millboro Road, Franklinville, made his transition on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mr. Singleton was the son of the late John Wesley and Hathie Beane Singleton of Montgomery County. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Arie Singleton, Charlie Singleton, Lester Singleton, Theodore (Jay) Singleton, Edgar Singleton; sister, Inez Singleton Williamson, all of Black Ankle in Montgomery County. Mr. Singleton is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Graves Singleton, of the home; daughters, Betty Stone of Asheboro, Donna Singleton Fields of Franklinville; four grandchildren, Barbara Lisenby Davis, Steve Lisenby, Raymond Archer, Aaron Archer; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and at other times at the home of Ruth Morris, 3030 Mack-Lineberry Road, Franklinville. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 23, 2014, at Big Oak Church of God in Black Ankle with Pastor Chris Boyd officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service.
