Star - Hayes Nichols, 79, of 500 Hurley Farm Road, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Nichols was born in Montgomery County to Kennie D. and Bertie Hurley Nichols. He was a retired truckdriver from Gooch Lumber Company. He loved his family very much. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Lyon Nichols, of the home; sons, Chadwick Hayes Nichols, of Troy, Jeremy Brent Nichols, of Troy; daughters, Denise Leigh Campbell, of Star, Ramona Lynn Nichols, of Troy; brother, Tony Paul Nichols, Star; sister, Minnie Nichols, of Star; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, August 3, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
