Jack Garrett Coggins

Biscoe - Jack Garrett Coggins, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Greg and Lisa’s home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Coggins Family Cemetery, Coggins Road, Biscoe with Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home and other times at the home of Greg and Lisa Coggins, 687 Coggins Road, Biscoe.

Mr. Coggins was born in Montgomery County to Clarence T. and Ila Naomi (Covington) Coggins. He was a former saw mill operator and was a poultry farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Lewis Coggins and his sister, Bernice Brooks.

He is survived by his sons, Greg Coggins (Lisa), of Biscoe, Tony Coggins of Biscoe; sisters, Betty Davis Johnson of Biscoe and Jo Ann Spivey of Star; brother, Max Coggins of Biscoe; grandchildren, Bethany Humphrey, Brianna Peralta, Allison Coggins, Megan Britt, and Katie Coggins; great-grandchildren, Makayla Britt, Gunner Britt, Braylee Humphrey, Westin Humphrey, and Gavin Peralta.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Community Home Care & Hospice for their support and care over the last few months.
