James Edward Britt

Biscoe - James Edward "Ed" Britt, 83, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Grady Blakely and Rev. William Hancock officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM at the church.

Mr. Britt was born in Montgomery County to Lee and Mary Maness Britt. He was a retired fixer from Collins & Aikman, a veteran of the US Army, and was a member of Biscoe VFW # 9881.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Melba Hancock Britt, of the home; sons, Donald Britt (Laura), of Biscoe, Jim Britt (Vickie), of Hickory; daughters, Pam Morgan (Ken), of Aberdeen, Judy Batten (Wade), Buford, GA; sisters, Mary James of Biscoe, Rosa Tyson of Ellerbe; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, PO Box 1109, Biscoe, NC 27209.
