James Rozell Mashburn

Star - James Rozell Mashburn, 94, of 234 Harper Street, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Randolph Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Mashburn was born in Lee County to James Harvey and Cora Belle Oldham Mashburn. He was a retired truck driver for Georgia Pacific in Asheboro. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Essie Cooper Mashburn, of the home; daughters, Marlene Mashburn of Roanoke Rapids, Donna Grayce Wilson of Lytle, TX; son, Jimmy Mashburn, of Star; sisters, Gail Davis of Biscoe, Carol Deaton of Charlottesville, VA, Pat Mashburn of Troy; brothers, John Wayne Mashburn, of Star, Richard Mashburn, of Franklin, VA, Laine Mashburn of Ether; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
