James Odell Tucker

Star - James Odell Tucker, 88, of 499 Mabe Road, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at V.A. Medical Center , Salisbury. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 10, 2011, at Freeman Family Cemetery with the Rev. Martin E. Davis officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Tucker was born in Montgomery County to Jason T. and Louise Freeman Tucker. He was a WWII Army veteran, ex POW, and a retired mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Freeman Tucker and son, Ronnie L. Tucker. Surviving are his sons, Jimmy O. Tucker and Ricky L. Tucker, both of Star; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation.
