JC Wilkes

John Clayton "JC" Wilkes, age 83, of Biscoe, passed away on May 6, 2026, at his home.

JC was born on September 9, 1942, in Montgomery County to Fred and Kathleen Lemonds Wilkes. He enjoyed woodworking, listening to bluegrass music, loved the beach and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Rachel Tyndall Wilkes, sister Debbie Holder and brother Jerry Wilkes Sr, and nephew Jerry Wilkes Jr.

JC is survived by his wife Dorothy "Dot" Jackson Wilkes of the home; daughters Lisa Wilkes (Jamie) of Troy and stepdaughter Tracy Harvel (Jay) of Asheboro; and sister Mary Callicutt of Star. Grandchildren David Hicks (Katelyn), Anita Rodriquez (Victor) and Cade Chesnutt. As well as great grandchildren Landon and Bradley Hicks, Jayden and Mila Rodriquez and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. Steve Jarman and Chaplan Rae Ferrarini officiating. Burial will follow at Biscoe Cemetery.
