Jessie Lee Haywood Campbell

Biscoe - Jessie Lee Haywood Campbell, 86, of NC Hwy 24-27 West, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Main Street Baptist Church, where she was a founding member, with Dr. Jeff York officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell was born in Montgomery County to George and Ada Bell Richardson Haywood. She was a retired seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Campbell. Jack and Jessie owned and operated the former Biscoe Speedway as well as the Sportsman's Nook. She is survived by her son, Stephen Ray Campbell, Sr. and wife, Brenda Price Campbell, of Troy; twin sister, Essie Sexton and her husband, Bernard, of Candor; grandchildren, Stephen R. Campbell, Jr., Douglas Cunningham, Jr., Ashley N. Campbell, Adam G. Campbell, and Amber J. Campbell; great-grandchildren, Kadin Campbell and Houston Cunningham. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
