Jo Ann Brewer Allen Moore

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Jo Ann Brewer Allen Moore, age 82, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at her home. She was born in Pinehurst on March 29,1943. She was the daughter of Opal Sheffield Brewer & Claude Branson Brewer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband Vernon Eugene Allen.

Jo Ann was employed in the textile industry for 20 years, working for Russell Hosiery Mill, Ithaca, and Clayson’s Knitting.

Jo Ann was a member of Brown’s Chapel Christian Church in Robbins. She was the former Choir Director and loved to sing. She was blessed with the talent of playing the piano by ear, and never took any lessons for it. She also loved to travel with her husband “JJ” Moore. She and JJ were the Host on the bus trips to Singing in the Sun, Gatlinburg Gathering, Christmas trips to Myrtle Beach for Ray Flynn and Abraham Productions.

Jo Ann also loved to sew and make clothes, Crafts, and many other things. She loved her family, Church family, and most of all she loved the Lord. She had been in declining health for the last 3 years.

She and her husband JJ were married July 1, 1972, and would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this year.

She is survived by JJ Moore, her husband, Daughters, Tammy Allen Stevens (Ronnie) of Robbins, Kristi Moore York of Robbins, Terri Moore Barnes of Robbins. Jo Ann also has three Grandchildren, Samantha Rush (Chris) of Robbins, Claudia Kaminsky of Raeford, Justin Richardson and his friend Heather Banks of Taylorsville. She also has 3 Great-Grandchildren, Bella & Roman Covarubias, and Lily Rush of Robbins.

Jo Ann’s funeral service will be held Saturday, April 19th, 2025, at 2pm at Brown’s Chapel Christian Church in Robbins, with Pastor Shaun Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Jo Ann will be available for viewing from 1:00-1:50 pm on Saturday at the church.

Her visitation will be Friday, April 18th from 6-8pm at Phillips Funeral Home in Star. She will also lie in repose at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from Noon until 5pm for her friends in the Asheboro area.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Brown’s Chapel Christian Church, 608 Brown’s Chapel Road, Robbins, NC 27325.

The family would like to thank Asheboro Rehab and Healthcare in Asheboro for their support and care of Jo Ann during her stay. They would also like to thank Liberty Hospice for their care and support they gave Jo Ann during her time at home.
