Johnny Rufus Mabe

Johnny Rufus Mabe, 84, of Biscoe,  passed away on May 19, 2024, at his residence. 

He was born on December 6, 1939, in Montgomery County to the late Sandy Theodore and Susie Allen Mabe. Johnny loved to play golf and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Mabe was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma "Peggy" Mabe, his son Johnny Lendon Mabe, and his brothers Leon Mabe, Don Mabe, and sister Vienna Wright.

He is survived by his daughter Patti Parsons (Ronnie) of Seven Lakes, son Ken Greene (Patty) of Asheboro, sisters Wavie Presnell of Seagrove and Marie Martin of Star, as well as daughter-in-law Tina Mabe.  He is also survived by grandchildren Tia Parsons Abel, Sheryl Parsons, Angela Mabe Cook, Jamie Mabe, Seth Mabe, and Frances Greene Scheil.  Additionally, he leaves behind ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ron Chaney officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45pm.  Burial will follow at the Biscoe Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.
