Candor - Johnny "Wilmer" Sanders, 76, of 5042 US 220 Alt S, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 22, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Interment will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born in Randolph County to Orlando Thomas and Minnie Ethel Latham Saunders and was a truck driver/mechanic for 30 plus years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloris Thomas Sanders. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Ann Speaker of Palmetto, FL, Dianne Marie Tinline of Ellijay, GA, Kathy Lynn White of Candor, NC, David Ray Saunders of Randleman, NC; sisters, Canarie Kennedy of Seagrove, NC, Iris Owens of Seagrove, NC; brothers, Clyde Saunders of Robbins, NC, Cecil Saunders of Eagle Springs, NC, Bobby Saunders of Randleman, NC, Lonnie Saunders of Asheboro, NC, Gary Sanders of Seagrove, NC; 9 grandchildren, Christie Reeder Baker of Pensacola, FL, April Britt Patterson, Port Charlotte, FL, Teena Tinline, Port Charlotte, FL, Donald Ray Allen, Jr. of Star, NC, Christopher Saunders of Port Charlotte, FL, Gordon Saunders, of Port Charlotte, Annette Saunders of Biscoe, NC, Donna Saunders, of Carthage, NC, Paul Speaker of Pensacola, FL; 24 great-grandchildren.
