Larry Parsons

Larry Q. Parsons, age 84, of Star, passed away on May 7, 2025, at Autumn Care.

Mr. Parsons was born in Montgomery County on May 10, 1940, to Edgar Chriscoe and Alliene Dunn Parsons. He dedicated many years of his life to working in the textile industry, ultimately retiring from Renfro Corporation. He also was a member of the Star Fire Department for many years. Larry had a passion for fishing and cherished his time spent on his bass boat, earning the nickname "Catfish" among his friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Larry Parsons Jr.

He is survived by his wife Linda Mills Parsons of the home; daughter Pam Callicutt (Jody) of Star; grandchildren, Adam Callicutt (Jennifer); Tracey Callicutt (Chase Dowd), and sister Linda Henley (Jerry). Great grandchildren Emma Moss, Chance Dowd, AJ Callicutt and Cyrus Dowd.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Star from 11:00-12:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Leach Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Allen officiating.
