Lena Estelle Kennedy Davis

SEAGROVE - Lena Estelle Kennedy Davis, 76, of 1924 Adams Road, Seagrove, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Davis was born in Randolph County to George and Michie Owens Kennedy. She retired from Clayson Knitting Co., where she was a knitter. She was a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. Estelle loved her family, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Davis; sister, Margie Latham; brothers, George "Junior" and Billy Kennedy; and grandson, Adam Smith. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harvey Lee Davis, of the home; three sons, all of Seagrove, Alan Davis (Zelton), Greg Davis (Leslie), and Bryant Davis (Brandy); one daughter: Ginger Lewis (David) of Siler City; one sister, Dorothy Ashworth of Seagrove; sister-in-law, Joann Kennedy of Seagrove; grandchildren, Kasi Russell, Terri Lucas, Jacob Lewis, Hope Davis, Shandon Davis, Autumn Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Nathan Lewis; great-grandchildren, Cameron Russell, Dillon Lucas, Chyanne Lucas; and her loving dog, Bear. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 14, at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Andrew Hurlburt officiating. Interment will follow in Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, January 13, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
