Mark Floyd Maynard

Mark Floyd Maynard, age 64, of Star, passed away on September 23, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mark was born in Montgomery County on November 21, 1961, to John and Betty Floyd Maynard Jr. Mark graduated from East Montgomery High School and then went on to open Maynard Frame Shop with his brother. He was an avid collector of antiques, and he enjoyed spending time at the river. Mark worked part time with Phillips Funeral Home, and he served as a commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem for the Town of Star.

He was predeceased in death by his father John Maynard Jr., sister Vicki Sipple and nephew Chad Maynard.

Mark is survived by his mother, Betty Maynard of the home, brother Johnny Maynard of Ether, nephews Garrett Maynard (Chastity) of Star, Josh Maynard (Jody) of Star, Matthew Maynard of Ether and niece Sara (Steve). As well as great nieces and nephews Destinee, Dylan, Mason, Cole, Ila, Julianna and Isaac and several great great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am with Pastor Nick Allen officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will follow at Star United Methodist Church Cemetery.
