Mary Lillie Cagle Lucas

Mary Lillie Cagle Lucas, 82, of Star, a precious wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother left this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Troy. She loved babies and spent many years taking care of the nursery. She was a retired employee at Russell Hosiery Mill in Star with 24 years of service.

Her life was a true example of love and always putting others first. She was deeply loved by her family and all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Holmes and Rev. Grady Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Lucas was born on September 25, 1934 in Montgomery County to Motta Blair and Connie Ester Jordan Cagle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son and brothers, Jonah and Thomas Cagle.

She is survived by her husband, Hal Norris Lucas; sons, Ronnie Lucas (Ann), Mike Lucas (Mandy), Jeff Lucas (Robin); ten grandsons, Matthew, Alan, Josh, Daniel, Christopher, James, Blair, Jacob, Jordan, and Jared Lucas; four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Connor, Tanner, and Owen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
