Eagle Springs - Mary Jon Harrington Monroe left this world on Saturday, July 29, 2017, enveloped by the love of those she taught to love, in her home in Eagle Springs.
Jon was the daughter of the late JC and Lizabel McFarland Harrington of Broadway, NC and the daughter-in-law of the late Walter and Viola Monroe of Eagle Springs.
Ted Monroe was her husband and the love of her life. Moe, Shadow, and Blueberry were her current four legged children.
She also leaves behind her brother, Mac (Sue) and sister, Janet Harrington of Broadway; her in-laws, Randy (Patrice) Monroe of Eagle Springs and Nina (David) Long of Holly Springs; nieces and nephews whom she adored, Penny (John) Keane, Evan (Erica), Erin (Jennifer), Drew(Jamie) Monroe, Claire(James)Taylor and Katelyn and Callie Hennis. Also, her great nieces and nephews who were her greatest gifts, Cameron, McKenzie, Payton, Emma, Finley, Tori, Aubrey and Sophie and a special “son” Bryan Caddell and his family.
Jon fought a four year battle with lung cancer the way she did everything in life, with passion and a smile in her heart. She was a long time nurse at First Heath in Pinehurst and a devoted member of Bensalem Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service and celebration of a life well lived will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 4:00 pm at Bensalem Church located at 2891 Bensalem Church Road in Eagle Springs. The family will receive friends at Viola Monroe—Granny’s, 5132 Big Oak Church Road.

Knowing Jon made us better and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
