Mary Bell Maness

Star - Mary Bell Shoafe Maness, age 83, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Maness was born in Guilford County on July 5, 1934 to Henry and Hassie Beane Shoafe, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a retired textile mill employee.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Junior "Pete" Maness, of the home; daughters and son, Lona Morgan of Star; Judy Lowder and husband, Phil, of Albermarle; Bernice Brown and husband, Gary, of Seagrove; Elisa Maness of Asheboro; son, Austin Maness of Star; and Renee Thompson and husband, Carson, of Troy; sisters, Georgia Dunn of Troy, Shirley Carrick of Star, and Nellie Cox of Star; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 5, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Chriscoe officiating. Interment will be in Deaton-Maness Cemetery, Biscoe.
