Nathan Bennie Dorsett Jr.

Nathan Bennie Dorsett Jr., age 76, of Star, passed away on August 23, 2026, at Novant Presbyterian Hospital.

Mr. Dorsett was born in Randolph County to Nathan and Merline Robbins Dorsett Sr. Nathan proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed playing golf and going to Bible study and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Ronald Lee Dorsett.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Singleton Dorsett of the home; grandchildren Brandon Thompson, Brittany Dorsett and Makayla Dorsett.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Big Oak Church of God with Rev. Darrell Wright officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Randolph County Honor Guard.
