Phillip Melton Saunders

High Point - Phillip Melton Saunders, 68, died after a long illness with Parkinson's, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the Triad Care and Rehabilitation Center in High Point. He was born in Newport News, Virginia, to Price and Ora Melton Saunders. He attended UNC at Chapel Hill. Phillip served in the U.S. Navy as a Communication Specialist. He was a Computer Specialist with Hewlett-Packard, R.J. Reynolds, and Pepsi. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Paul Saunders, and nephew, Sterling Saunders. He is survived by his wife, Anna Baldwin Saunders, of the home; daughters, Laura Saunders (Norbert Schuehler) of Fitchburg, Mass. and Sylvia Reader of Winston-Salem; brothers, Nolan (Ann)Saunders of Garner and Dwight (Beverly) Saunders of Clinton; aunt, Jo Anne (Max) King, of Seagrove; nieces and nephews, Dwayne Saunders, Angela (Ronnie) Parrish, Brian (Rachel) Stogner, David Bostic, Lynn (Jeff) Tippette and Stacy Pridgen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, January 18, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 19, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Peacock and Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Biscoe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, N. C. 27262. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 19, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Peacock and Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Biscoe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, January 18, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
