Roy Lee Lucas

Roy Lee Lucas, 78, formerly of 330 Brewer Street, Star, died October 29, 2010 in Hillside Nursing Center, Wake Forest, NC. Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 2, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kay Boone officiating. Burial will follow in Lucas Family Cemetery, 3302 Cox Mill Road, Asheboro, NC. Mr. Lucas was born in Randolph County to Preston and Susan Cooper Lucas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Lucas was a retired journalist having worked for the Canton Enterprise, Rockingham Daily Journal, Winston-Salem Journal, Courier Tribune, Moore County News, Sandhill Citizen, and The Pilot. He is survived by his Wife: Linda Nachster Lucas Daughter: Elizabeth Watson and husband, Martin, of Kissimee, FL Sons: Michael Lee Lucas, Sr. and wife, Beth, of Davenport, FL Mark Cole Lucas of Star Thomas Preston Lucas and wife, Emily, of Wake Forest, NC. Grandchildren: Timothy Lucas, Zachary Lucas, Michael Lucas, Jr., Christopher Watson, Morgan Watson, Alexandra Lucas, Thomas Lucas The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Monday, November 1, at Phillips Funeral Home.
