Roy Lee Smith

Candor- Roy Lee Smith, age 76, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born in Montgomery County on October 27, 1944, to Wilbert Auley and Bertha Britt Smith.  He was a sewing machine mechanic for over 50 years and then worked for Prestige Fabrications for the past 18 years. He loved baseball and was a avid LA Dodgers fan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Audrey Lynn Smith and brothers, Richard Smith, J.C. Smith, Carl Wayne Smith and granddaughter Krista Donielle Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith and sons, Daryl Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Terry Smith (Tammy) of Greensboro and Jerry Smith (Jessica) of Stokesdale. Sisters, Coline Blake of Asheboro, and Carolyn Bailey of Biscoe.  Seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

Mr. Smith’s body will lie in repose from 1:00-5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, at Phillips Funeral Home.
