Aberdeen - Shirley Jean Freeman Whitaker, 59, of 124 Country Side Drive, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Shady Grove Christian Church with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She was born in Montgomery County to Sherman Freeman, Jr. and Treva Allen Freeman. She worked in the medical field. She is survived by her son, Colton Richardson, of Aberdeen; parents, Sherman Freeman, Jr. and Treva Allen Freeman, of Ether; sister, Brenda Council and husband, Jimmy, of Southern Pines; brother, Jerry Freeman and wife, Linda, of Marshall. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Shady Grove Christian Church.
