Susie Chriscoe Singleton, age 82, of Star, passed away on July 1, 2025, at her home.
Susie was born on January 4, 1943, to Everette and Mabel Yow Chriscoe in Randolph County. She dedicated many years of her life to working in the hosiery mill and the child care field. She was a member of the Big Oak Church of God, where she shared her musical talent by playing the piano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanette Auman, grandson Anthony Auman, brothers Thurman Chriscoe, Norman Chriscoe, Glenn Chriscoe and James Chriscoe; sisters Viola Shelton, Vera Beane and Doris Keeling.
She is survived by her husband Melvin Lester Singleton of the home; daughters Linda Brewer (W.T) of Seagrove; Michelle Lucas (Travis) of Asheboro; sons Melvin "Junior" Singleton (Sharon) of McLeansville; Steve Singleton (Jeannie) of Seagrove and Ray McKenzie of Rockingham and sister Mary Black of Randleman. As well as grandchildren Bridget Hitchcock, Emily Kafka, Michael Auman, Daniel Singleton, Dwight Singleton, Bradley Singleton, Dylan Singleton, Chris Lucas and Katelyn Lucas and ten great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Big Oak Church of God at 2:00 pm with Rev. Darrell Wright and Rev. Tim Beck officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Susie's memory to Big Oak Church of God at PO Box 511, Star, NC 27356.
