Wayne Nicholas Nall

Wayne Nicholas Nall, age 87, of Star, North Carolina went to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, where he reunited with his wife Colleen and sons Eugene and Johnny.

Wayne was born on August 25th, 1937, in Moore County to Daniel and Ina Nall. Throughout Wayne’s life he worked in textiles. He finished out his career with 25 plus years of service at Spring Mills in Biscoe, NC. Upon leaving the workforce he spent many years of his life taking care of his family and traveling as much as possible with Colleen.

Wayne will be remembered for his unwavering Christian faith. He was an active and loyal member of Browns Chapel Christian Church and a member of the choir. There wasn’t a time where the church doors were open that you didn’t see him there.

Wayne and Colleen Nall were married for over 66 years; when you saw one you saw the other. Their favorite activities they enjoyed together were gardening, sitting on their front porch, bird watching, cooking in the kitchen, taking long walks, and of course traveling and camping.

Colleen was a resident of Sandy Ridge for the last ten years. Wayne stayed a devoted husband doing whatever he could to care for her. He would visit her on a daily basis and constantly call to check on her. Everyone knew who he was in the facility.

His granddaughters will remember him most for his blue eyes, bright smile, big warm hugs, the love he shared for Jesus, his contagious laugh, his bravery and strength, his wonderful cooking, especially his pancakes, for consistently showing his love over the years no matter the distance, for always taking them on adventures and trips, for showing them what true love was, and in his later years his tenacious demeanor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Colleen Nall and their two sons Eugene Nall and Johnny Nall, brother D.R. Nall, and sister Louvene Maness.

He is survived by his granddaughter Chasity Renee Agnew (Zachary) their three children Ariel, Zoey, James, granddaughter Nicki Nall Garner and her son JJ, and granddaughters Shannon McDonald, and Devon Nall. His daughter-in-law Renee Andrew (Darrell). Sister Marie Key along with several nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members, and his church family.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm at Phillips Funeral Home in Star. The funeral service will be held at Browns Chapel Christian Church on Friday, May 2nd at 2pm with Pastor Shaun Garner officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sandy Ridge, Autumn Care, and Richmond Hospice Care for loving and caring for Wayne and Colleen over the years.
